Mark Newby returns to address conference by Popular Demand
Following a successful Speech to the Innocence Network earlier this year , Mark Newby has accepted an invitation to return to the National Conference in London in November to Speak on the issue of investigating sexual offence cases .
Mark Spoke earlier this year and gave a workshop on how the Anver Sheikh case was investigated form a wide ranging allegation to a specific date in August 1980 allowing the case to be quashed . Mark also addressed other cases and illustrated the importance of good trial preparation and the need to go the extra mile for those we represent .

Mark Newby Spoke to the Conference held at Leeds on the Lawless Case and the approach to be taken on investigating miscarriages of Justice
Mark Talked to the Conference about the investigation in the Lawless Case and the resultant identification that the original Trial Team failed to obtain vital psychological evidence .
That evidence was then obtained form leading psychologist Gisli Gudjjonson who confirmed Mr Lawless was suffering from an attention syndrome at the time which explained why he confessed to a crime in reality he didn’t even know the full details of .
The talk then developed into the approach to be taken to both investigations of miscarriage , dealing with the CCRC and the important role the media has in highlighting miscarriages of justice .
